Best Fence Installation in Hidden Hills
Aluminum fence, equestrian-friendly fencing and gated entries for Hidden Hills properties, planned with the Community Association’s Architectural Committee in mind. Installed through our licensed installation partners.
Fencing for Hidden Hills Properties
Hidden Hills is a small, guard-gated city at the western edge of the San Fernando Valley, next to Calabasas. It was planned as a rural, equestrian community, most lots are an acre or more, and deed restrictions protect that character.
That makes fencing in Hidden Hills different from anywhere else nearby. Properties are large, horses and trails are part of daily life, and the private Hidden Hills Community Association reviews fences before they are built. A fence here has to suit the rural look, the size of the lot and the Association’s standards.
We supply aluminum fence, gates and posts from our showroom in Panorama City, about twenty-five minutes away, and we install through our licensed installation partners. We can provide product details and photos for your Architectural Committee submittal.
How Fence Approval Works in Hidden Hills
In Hidden Hills, the private Hidden Hills Community Association has an Architectural Committee that must approve fences before they are built.
- Plans first: submittals show the fence’s size, materials, colors, setbacks and lot contours.
- Meetings: the Committee meets on the first and third Mondays of the month.
- City permit second: the City building inspector will not issue a permit without plans stamped by the Committee.
Heights and styles are set by the City code and the Association’s standards. Ask the Association for its current fence standards before you choose a design.

Fire Safety and Fencing in Hidden Hills
Hidden Hills has Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones under LA County’s 2025 ordinance. The City reported it remained unharmed in the January 2025 Kenneth Fire, though residents were temporarily evacuated.
California’s new Zone 0 rules cover the first 5 feet around a home in Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones. The state Board of Forestry adopted them in August 2026, and they take effect once the state finishes its final review. As adopted, they say combustible fences and gates may not be attached to a home, and that no new combustible fences or gates are allowed within 5 feet of a home once the rules take effect.
Lumina aluminum fence systems are noncombustible, based on the manufacturer’s fire test documentation, which makes them a strong choice for the run closest to the house. Ask us for a copy of the documents. Fire rules are still being finalized, so confirm current requirements with your fire department or building department before you build. Our Zone 0 fence guide has more detail.

What Shapes a Fence in Hidden Hills
Equestrian properties
Horses and trails shape the layout. Open, rail-style aluminum fencing can define paddocks and property lines without closing in the land, and it never needs repainting.
Acre-plus lots
Large lots mean long fence lines. Powder-coated aluminum keeps maintenance close to zero across hundreds of feet.
Gated entries
Inside the gates, many homes still want their own driveway gate. Aluminum sliding and swing gates match the fence exactly.
Rural character
Open designs keep the rural, open feel the community is known for. Bring photos of your property to the showroom and we will suggest styles that fit.
Pools and backyards
Aluminum pool fencing gives a clean, open look around pools and spas.
